Hello there and welcome to this edition of the Weekly update.

This week the team is continuing to work on getting the server problems resolved. Severlin has been putting in some crazy hours trying to look through all of the data we have gathered thus far. We have made some progress in getting to the bottom of these issues, but we have not found a resolution yet. We will continue to investigate and pour through data until we get the matter resolved.

Next week is that time again, Patch time! This is a reminder that the May event, Prodigal Sons is scheduled to go live on Tuesday May 22nd. On that day the worlds will be down from 8am EDT – 3pm EDT. If for some reason that date changes, we will give you as much notice as possible. Please note that due to many circumstances including the ongoing server issues, this month’s content may appear a bit lighter than normal. Anything we were unable to complete for this month should however make it in for June, along with what was already on the schedule for that month. There is still going to be plenty for everyone to do this month, but we would have liked to be able to get more done. Time was just not on our side this month.

The issue of death macros and continued use of the /die command continues to come up here and with customer service, so I want to be clear on a few things. The use of any macros which cause you die intentionally over and over again is a Code of Conduct violation. As well as the intentional dropping of multiple corpses in an effort to either glitch the game in some way or to cause others lag. Despite the claims by some, even those people who no longer drop corpses still cause a performance hit to the servers when they continually use the /die command. If you are found to be abusing this function in any way shape or form you can and will be subject to disciplinary action from our customer service team. To that end, the team is investigating the idea of putting a timer on the use of the /die command.

Some of you may have noticed some odd things with the website and forums today. This is a result of the now completed upgrade to the web tools we use for the main website. If you notice something on the site that is now missing or not working as it was before, please drop me a pm with the info and I will get it fixed as soon as I can. In the meantime I am going to archiving and cleaning up some of the older stuff on the main site. As much as we all love the rich history of the game, there are many articles and pages that are simply out of date and they need to be updated or just removed. That is going to be my main focus over the next few weeks.

So that the folks contributing are aware we have been keeping a close watch on the New Augment suggestion thread. There are some really good ideas there so far. Now without making any promises, the discussion has come up about adding some new Augments in to the mix. If and when we do go forward with these, I would like to see us pull from the ideas we have seen here so far. Good work folks, keep it up!

That’s about it for now. Everyone have a great day, and see you all in Dereth!
